Dit voorjaar bracht Lillestoff haar eerste magazine uit met een aantal hele leuke naaipatronen. Ik zag er de Mekko jurk in staan en werd op slag verliefd. Ik twijfelde echter of het model mij zou staan. Ik besloot de jurk te tekenen en de bovenmaat naar de heupen toe iets te verbreden. Nadat ik het patroon getekend had, kon ik geen stofkeuze maken. Totdat ik een oud jurkje droeg van hele soepele tricot. Dat deed mij denken aan de superzachte en mooi draperende feel van de Lilestoff modal jersey Akazie.
This spring Lillestoff brought their first magazine full of sewing inspiration and patterns on the market. I instanly fell in love with the Mekko dress. I had a little doubts if the dress would suit me, but I decided to draw the pattern and make it a bit wider on the hips. I had a hird time deciding wich fabric I should choose. But after wearing an old summerdress made with a very drapery kind of jersey, I picked out a fabric with the same drapery look and wich is also very soft. The modal jersey from Lillestoff, Akazie.
De stof is geen uitbundige print, maar voor een tijdloos jurkje is dat ook wel fijn en op de een of andere manier voelde dat wat veiliger bij het uitproberen van het patroon. De stof is superzacht en valt mooi naar beneden, dat hoort ook wel bij dit jurkje.
The subtle design of the fabric is perfect for a timeless dress. Dark blue, small print, hopefully I can wear it for a long time. The fabric feels extremely soft. Despite the thin fabric it's heavy enough for that drapery style.
Over het patroon. Ik koos voor de optie zonder beleg maar knipte zelf een boordje. De onderste flap zit los aan de bovenkant van de halslijn, die is lager getekend en kun je niet meestikken met beleg of boord, dat ga ik volgende keer anders doen. Verder ben ik heel blij met de pasvorm.
About the pattern. I made a cuff for the neckline instead of facing (siege?). The fabric with the grey print is loose on top. Next time I will adjust the pattern so that the lower front piece has the same neckline as the upper front piece. Beside that, I'm really happy with the fit.
